ABOUT US

Bump, Baby & Beyond (Dumfries and Galloway) is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity No. SC045122) supporting local parents and parents-to-be.

The group was originally created in 2010 as a network of parents who joined together to help raise the profile of breastfeeding support in Dumfries and was formally constituted under the banner mum2mum friends in 2011.

Over this time our work around breastfeeding support has flourished and other distinct themed areas of work have developed alongside – all led by parents attending the breastfeeding drop-in. Some of these new areas of work complement our breastfeeding focus and others have developed which go beyond this into other areas of parent support.

OBJECTS/PURPOSES:

Bump, Baby and Beyond (Dumfries and Galloway) is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, who's objects are:

to advance education through provision of support, advice and information to parents and parents-to-be to give their children a healthy start in life.
to raise awareness of the benefits of breast feeding and the needs of parents and parents-to-be through working in partnership with a wide range of voluntary and statutory organisations
to advance community development through building a volunteer led peer support network for families.

MISSION

Our mission is to develop and offer community based support and services to families, which:

Create a supportive community for all parents, which enables the development of supportive peer relationships and friendships, and helps tackle social isolation;
Foster positive relationships between parent and child;
Support the mental and physical well-being of parents;
Support parents to give their children the best start in life;
Offer the opportunity to engage in new experiences;
Offer access to advice and expertise;
Direct families to other pathways of support;
Work in partnership with other community and statutory services;
Are inclusive and open to all;
